The founder and president of the Kailos group, Inc., a California-based healthcare consulting firm, Susan Funk is a seasoned consultant with over two decades of experience spanning multiple aspects of the healthcare industry.

Ms. Funk's expertise is grounded in first-hand experience as an Associate Director of a university teaching hospital and a psychiatric and addictive disease hospital. Her line management experience includes clinical, administrative and support functions, along with marketing and strategic planning. Prior to obtaining an entering hospital management, she worked on healthcare policy for a U.S. Congressman.

Ms. Funk earned a BA cum laude from Yale University in 1979. She earned her MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business in 1985, where she focused on the healthcare industry, and was designated an Arjay Miller Scholar (academic top ten percent). Her Stanford degrees also include a Certificate in Public Management.

The picture at right shows Ms. Funk completing the Los Angeles Marathon as a fundraiser for the American Heart Association to fight stroke. Ms. Funk has served on several Heart Association boards.
